First Healthy Lothian Community Meeting / December 7, 2024

The Patuxent Riverkeeper’s first Healthy Lothian Community meeting was held on December 7, 2024 at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in Lothian, Maryland and hosted by Patty Delgado.

Our speakers were Fred Tutman / Patuxent Riverkeeper, Jonathan Reidel, Esq. / CASA, and Julie Snyder, Director of Community Engagement  / Community Action Agency of Anne Arundel County.

We had 13 participants who gathered as a community to discuss issues, concerns, and to find out what improvements the community would like to see in the Lothian / Harwood Community.

In addition this meeting also provided vital community resource information and updated local area news. Fred Tutman started off the meeting discussing the drinking water and the waste water dumping in the Patuxent river. Jonathan Reidel, Esq had an open discussion on tenants rights and ways to advocate and communicate with the local government regarding those rights. Julie Snyder of the Community Action Agency of Anne Arundel provided information on helping families with assistance on housing, financial, and other urgent needs..
